Kitui Governor Dr. Julius Malombe has reaffirmed his administration’s unwavering commitment to transforming the lives of residents through sustained investment in water and healthcare infrastructure after commissioning the Karung’a Community Water Project and the renovated Katinga Dispensary in Kivou Ward, Mwingi Central Constituency.
The Governor said the two projects reflect his government’s deliberate focus on delivering essential services that improve livelihoods and foster inclusive development across every corner of Kitui County.
The newly commissioned Karung’a Community Water Project, which draws its water from the Karung’a Earth Dam, is expected to significantly ease the burden of water scarcity by providing clean and safe water to Karung’a Market, Karung’a Senior School, a communal water kiosk, and more than 210 households through individual water connections.
Governor Malombe noted that access to reliable water is fundamental to public health, education, agriculture, and economic growth, adding that his administration remains committed to ensuring every community benefits from sustainable water projects.
In a further boost to social services, the Governor also commissioned the renovated Katinga Dispensary at Kisama Village, Kivou Ward. The upgraded health facility is expected to enhance healthcare delivery by bringing quality and affordable medical services closer to residents, reducing the need for patients to travel long distances in search of treatment.
Speaking during the commissioning ceremony, Governor Malombe emphasized that his government will continue prioritizing development projects that directly improve the welfare of wananchi, saying investments in water and healthcare remain key pillars of his vision for a healthier, more prosperous, and economically empowered Kitui County.
Residents welcomed the projects, describing them as life-changing interventions that will improve access to clean water, strengthen healthcare services, and stimulate local socio-economic development.
The event was attended by Members of the County Executive, Kivou Ward MCA Hon. Sammy Munyithya, senior County and National Government officials, political leaders, and local opinion leaders, who lauded Governor Malombe’s continued commitment to delivering transformative development projects across the county.
