Governor Wavinya Ndeti Restores Hope as Fire Victims Receive KSh 50,000 Compensation.

A wave of joy and relief swept through Mitumba traders in Machakos Town as Machakos Governor Wavinya Ndeti fulfilled her pledge by issuing KSh 50,000 to each trader whose business was destroyed in the recent devastating fire.More than 200 traders benefited from the compensation exercise conducted at the site where the inferno reduced hundreds of mitumba stalls to ashes, leaving many families without a source of income. The financial support is expected to help the affected traders rebuild their businesses and restore their livelihoods.

Speaking during the exercise, the beneficiaries praised Governor Wavinya for demonstrating compassionate and people-centered leadership by standing with them during one of their most difficult moments. They described her as a leader who not only listens to the concerns of wananchi but also delivers on the promises she makes.

The traders recalled that immediately after the fire, Governor Wavinya visited the affected area, consoled the victims, and assured them that her administration would intervene to help them recover. They noted that her decision to honour that commitment had renewed their confidence in her leadership.

The beneficiaries also dismissed claims by some political opponents who had questioned the Governor’s promise, saying the compensation exercise had proved that Governor Wavinya is a leader who keeps her word. They expressed gratitude for the timely support, noting that it would enable them to restart their businesses with dignity and hope.

Many of the traders reaffirmed their confidence in Governor Wavinya Ndeti’s leadership, saying her swift response to the crisis reflects a government that prioritizes the welfare of its people. They pledged to continue supporting her development agenda, describing her as a dependable and caring leader committed to transforming the lives of Machakos residents.ENDS///…
