Governor Malombe Commissions Ngiluni Dispensary Maternity Unit to Strengthen Maternal Healthcare in Kitui Rural

Julius Malombe today commissioned the Ngiluni Dispensary Maternity Unit in Kisasi Ward, Kitui Rural Sub-county, in a major step toward strengthening maternal and child healthcare services in the region.

The new maternity unit, established by the County Government of Kitui under Governor Malombe’s leadership, is expected to significantly improve access to safe and reliable delivery services for expectant mothers in the area. The facility will also enhance the overall capacity of Ngiluni Dispensary to provide quality healthcare at the grassroots level.

Speaking during the commissioning ceremony, Governor Malombe reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to improving healthcare infrastructure across the county, noting that maternal health remains a top priority in his development agenda.

The governor emphasized that the establishment of the maternity unit will help reduce the long distances that expectant mothers have traditionally travelled in search of delivery services, while also ensuring that mothers and newborns receive professional medical care closer to their homes.

Governor Malombe noted that the project forms part of the county government’s broader efforts to strengthen healthcare service delivery and improve health outcomes for residents across Kitui County.
Residents and local leaders welcomed the commissioning of the maternity unit, describing it as a timely intervention that will save lives and improve the wellbeing of families in Kisasi Ward and neighboring areas.

The launch of the Ngiluni Dispensary Maternity Unit further underscores Governor Malombe’s continued push to expand healthcare access and deliver quality medical services to communities across Kitui County.
