Governor Malombe Commissions Nzeeu Kavasya Ngiluni Water Project to Boost Access to Clean Water in Kitui Rural

Julius Malombe today commissioned the Nzeeu Kavasya Ngiluni Sumpwell Water Supply Scheme in Kitui Rural Sub-county, marking a significant milestone in the county government’s ongoing efforts to expand access to clean and reliable water for residents.

The project, which has been rehabilitated by the County Government of Kitui under Governor Malombe’s administration, is expected to greatly improve water availability in the area, benefiting thousands of households that have long faced challenges accessing safe water.

Speaking during the commissioning, Governor Malombe emphasized that water accessibility remains a key priority of his administration, noting that the project is part of a broader strategy aimed at addressing water scarcity across the county.

The Nzeeu Kavasya Ngiluni Sumpwell Water Supply Scheme has the capacity to serve approximately 2,500 households per day, a development that will significantly ease the burden on residents who previously had to travel long distances in search of water.

Governor Malombe reiterated his government’s commitment to investing in water infrastructure, saying that reliable water supply is essential not only for domestic use but also for improving livelihoods and supporting economic activities in rural communities.

The governor noted that the rehabilitation of the water scheme reflects his administration’s promise to ensure that every resident of Kitui County has access to dependable water services.

Local residents welcomed the project, saying it will transform daily life in the area by ensuring consistent access to clean and safe water, while also reducing the time spent fetching water.

The commissioning of the project underscores the county government’s continued push under Governor Malombe’s leadership to strengthen water infrastructure and improve the quality of life for communities across Kitui County.
