Makueni Governor Mutula Kilonzo Jr. has initiated fresh discussions with the National Youth Service (NYS) aimed at broadening their existing partnership on infrastructure development within the county.
During a high-level meeting held at NYS Headquarters in Nairobi, Governor Mutula met with NYS Commandant General James Tembur to review progress and chart a course for deeper collaboration. The discussions followed the successful completion of road construction projects across eight wards in Makueni.
The leaders explored opportunities to expand the scope of partnership beyond roads, with potential ventures in dam construction and modern market sheds identified as key priorities. These initiatives are expected to enhance water access and stimulate local economies.
Governor Mutula praised the NYS for its efficiency, transparency, and precision in executing infrastructure projects, noting that his administration is eager to continue working with the service to uplift the quality of life for Makueni residents.
On his part, General Tembur commended the productive Government-to-Government cooperation with Makueni County, affirming NYS’s readiness to support the county’s development goals moving forward.
