Kitui Deputy Governor Leads Second Phase of Performance Contract Signing

Kitui Deputy Governor Augustine Kanani, who also doubles as the County Executive Committee Member (CECM) for Performance Contracting, has presided over the second-level performance contract signing ceremony involving Chief Officers and their respective CECMs.

The exercise, held as part of the county’s commitment to accountability and service delivery, will now cascade further to Directors and all county employees through the use of Staff Performance Appraisal Forms.

This phase follows the earlier signing of performance contracts by all County Executive Committee Members with Governor Dr. Julius Malombe last week for the 2025/2026 Financial Year.

Speaking during the ceremony, Deputy Governor Kanani emphasized the importance of aligning individual staff responsibilities with the county’s strategic priorities.

“These contracts are not just routine documents  they are firm commitments that will guide our performance, ensure accountability, and guarantee that we deliver on the development agenda promised to the people of Kitui,” he noted.

The performance contracting process is central to the implementation of the county’s 16 sectoral development priorities under The Kitui Promise, the county’s flagship development framework aimed at transforming service delivery across all sectors.
