Kitui County Executive Committee Member (CECM) for Lands, Housing and Urban Development, Hon. Fredrick Kimanga, has issued a stern warning to fraudsters and individuals purporting to sell the B2 Ranch land located in Kanyoonyoo, Kitui County.
Speaking from Mombasa , Kimanga cautioned members of the public against falling prey to conmen who are reportedly demanding money from unsuspecting residents with false promises of selling portions of the ranch. He emphasized that the land in question is legally held under lease by Yatta B2 Ranching in trust for the County Government of Kitui, and that any purported sale is illegal, null, and void.
“Let it be clear to everyone B2 Ranch is public land held in trust by Yatta B2 Ranching on behalf of the people of Kitui County. The lease, which was issued by the then County Council of Kitui, runs for a period of 99 years and will expire in 2064. No individual or group has the authority to sell or transfer any part of this land,” said Kimanga.
The Lands Minister further warned that the county government will take decisive legal action against anyone found engaging in fraudulent transactions or misleading the public regarding ownership of the ranch.
“We will not tolerate land fraud. The Directorate of Criminal Investigations has already been alerted to track down and prosecute anyone involved in conning the public using the B2 Ranch name,” he added.
Kimanga urged residents of Kitui and surrounding areas to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities or individuals attempting to sell the land to the authorities.
He reaffirmed the county government’s commitment to protecting all public assets and ensuring that community resources such as B2 Ranch continue to serve the people of Kitui for generations to come.
“The County Government of Kitui, under the leadership of Governor Dr. Julius Malombe, is fully committed to transparency, accountability, and protection of public land. Let no one be deceived by these conmen,” Kimanga concluded.
B2 Ranch, located in Kanyoonyoo area, has long served as an important communal resource for ranching and livestock development, contributing to the county’s agricultural and economic growth.
