More than 2,000 households in Kitui South are set to benefit from improved water access following the construction of the KSh 8 million UAE Dam, an initiative spearheaded by Kitui South MP Hon. Dr. CBS Rachael Kaki Nyamai.
The dam, with a 5,000-cubic-metre capacity, will provide reliable water for domestic use, livestock and agriculture, helping to address water shortages and boost food security across the constituency.
Speaking during a site visit, Hon. Dr. Nyamai reaffirmed her commitment to delivering impactful development projects, noting that the dam will improve livelihoods, strengthen climate resilience and support sustainable economic growth in Kitui South.
Construction is progressing well, with residents welcoming the project as a major step toward lasting water security.
