Incoming Kitui Woman Representative, Hon. Fridah Makasi, today joined hundreds of mourners at Mwalaivu Village, Ithumula Sub-location, Ikanga/Kyatune Ward in Kitui South Constituency, to pay her last respects during the burial ceremony of the late Agnes Nduku Kiio.
She was accompanied by the Ikanga/Kyatune Ward MCA, Hon. Cyrus Musyoka, popularly known as Sonko, as family members, friends, and residents gathered to celebrate the life of the deceased and stand in solidarity with the bereaved family during their time of grief.
In a remarkable gesture of compassion and commitment to education, Hon. Fridah Makasi and Hon. Cyrus Musyoka jointly contributed funds to support the education of the late Agnes Nduku Kiio’s children, Joel Kiio and Felistus Kiio, who are set to join university and college respectively this September. The leaders emphasized that the loss of a parent should never deny deserving children the opportunity to pursue their academic dreams.
Addressing the mourners, Hon. Fridah Makasi encouraged the community to continue supporting vulnerable families and investing in education as a pathway to a brighter future.
She reaffirmed her commitment to championing the welfare of women, children, and young people across Kitui County, noting that empowering the next generation through education remains one of the most meaningful ways of honoring the legacy of departed loved ones.
