Kaki Takes Commanding Lead in Kitui South as Rivals Face Uphill Battle.

The 2027 Kitui South parliamentary race is already sending a strong signal, with a new IdealMerit Africa opinion poll placing incumbent MP Hon. Dr. CBS Rachael Kaki Nyamai well ahead of her main challenger, Gladys Mami Kivoto.

According to the poll, Kaki commands 55.6% of voter preference, compared with 20.9% for Kivoto.
With the survey covering 2,277 registered voters across all six wards, the figures provide an early snapshot of voter sentiment and show a substantial gap between the two candidates at the time of the survey.

For rivals hoping to unseat Kaki, the numbers underline the scale of the challenge ahead as the 2027 contest gathers momentum.
