Kilimu Dispensary Commissioned as Julius Malombe Accelerates Healthcare Delivery in Kitui West

Kitui County Governor Dr. Julius Malombe has officially commissioned Kilimu Dispensary in Kithumula Kwa Mutonga Ward, marking a significant milestone in the county’s efforts to strengthen grassroots healthcare services.

The newly completed facility, whose construction had stalled for several years before the current administration took office, has now been delivered under Governor Malombe’s leadership. The commissioning underscores the Governor’s steadfast commitment to ensuring residents of Kitui West access quality and affordable healthcare closer to their homes.

Speaking during the event, Governor Malombe reaffirmed that improving healthcare infrastructure remains a top priority in his broader countywide development agenda. He noted that the completion of Kilimu Dispensary will ease the burden on residents who previously had to travel long distances in search of medical services.

“This dispensary is a clear demonstration of our resolve to bring healthcare services nearer to the people. We are committed to strengthening our health systems, equipping our facilities, and ensuring our wananchi receive timely and quality medical attention,” the Governor stated.

The facility is expected to offer essential outpatient services, maternal and child healthcare, immunization, and basic laboratory services, significantly enhancing service delivery within the ward.

In further efforts to bolster healthcare services across the county, the County Executive Committee Member for Health and Sanitation, Ruth Koki, announced that the county government is in the process of installing theatre equipment at Kauwi Level IV Hospital. The move is aimed at expanding surgical services and reducing referrals to distant facilities.

The commissioning of Kilimu Dispensary reflects Governor Malombe’s continued focus on revitalizing stalled projects and investing in critical sectors that directly impact the lives of Kitui residents. As the county advances its healthcare transformation agenda, local communities are poised to benefit from improved access to reliable and efficient medical services.
