Mbooni Constituency MP Erustus Kivasu Nzioka is facing mounting political pressure after the Wiper Patriotic Front firmly declared that no aspirant will be handed a direct nomination ticket ahead of the 2027 General Election.
The party leader, Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka, who is widely referred to by supporters as the Sixth President of the Republic of Kenya, announced that all those seeking elective positions on the party’s ticket must face competitive nominations.
The declaration has rattled political circles in Mbooni, where Kivasu had projected confidence of securing an automatic ticket. With the door to direct nominations now firmly shut, the MP is said to be under siege as several formidable aspirants intensify grassroots campaigns in readiness for the party primaries.
Political analysts observe that the no-direct-ticket stance has energized Kivasu’s rivals, many of whom had previously feared an uneven playing field. The development now sets the stage for a bruising nomination battle that could determine the future of the Mbooni parliamentary seat.
As pressure mounts, Kivasu must now defend his record before party members in what is shaping up to be a high-stakes political showdown within Wiper Patriotic Front.
