Musambi Cites Development Record as He Signals Fresh Bid for Kitui Central Seat

State House Coordination Director Boniface Musambi signaled a renewed bid for the Kitui Central parliamentary seat in the 2027 General Election, citing his development track record and growing support from residents across the constituency.

Speaking at his rural home in Kilukuya Village in Mulango Ward, Musambi said residents from several areas had gathered and urged him to step forward and contest the seat. He noted that the residents had endorsed his candidature and that he had accepted their call to run in the upcoming elections.

Musambi used the occasion to highlight projects he said he had championed in Kitui Central despite not holding the MP seat. He pointed to education support initiatives, including facilitating more than 1,800 youths to enroll in Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions to acquire practical skills

He also cited infrastructure development efforts, among them lobbying for the tarmacking of the Wikililye–Katulani–Maliku road and pushing for new markets and improved road networks.
Musambi further revealed that he had presented several development proposals for the constituency during a meeting between Ukambani leaders and President William Ruto at State House. The proposals included the establishment of the Wikililye ESP Market, construction of the Kwa Ngindu–Museve–Miambani–Kamandio road, and the creation of Huduma Centres in Miambani and Katulani to bring government services closer to residents.

The declaration came as political realignments begin to take shape in the constituency following indications by the current MP Makali Mulu that he would not defend the seat in 2027 as he prepares to pursue the Kitui gubernatorial race. Musambi had previously contested the seat in the 2022 General Election but narrowly lost.
