Preparations Underway for Kitui County’s July 2025 Agricultural Show and Trade Fair

By admin

Preparations are in high gear for the much-anticipated Kitui Agricultural Show and Trade Fair, scheduled for July 2025. On Tuesday, Kitui’s Executive for Agriculture and Livestock, Dr. Stephen Mbaya Kimwele, led a high-level delegation from the Ministry on a visit to the Kitui showground.

Dr. Kimwele, alongside Chief Officer for Fisheries Madam Gladys Kivoto, and other senior ministry officials, inspected various sections of the venue — with a particular focus on the demonstration farms. These demo plots will serve as focal points during the fair, offering hands-on learning on modern, climate-resilient farming technologies tailored to Kitui’s environmental conditions.

The inspection was aimed at assessing the current readiness of the grounds and identifying areas that need enhancement to ensure the site meets the standards for hosting numerous exhibitors and visitors.

Kitui County intends to leverage this year’s event as a launchpad for promoting agribusiness, improving market access, and fostering innovation in the agriculture, livestock, and fisheries sectors.

A diverse mix of stakeholders — including farmers, agripreneurs, development organizations, and private investors — are expected to attend, all united by the goal of boosting food security and driving regional economic progress.
