In a vibrant celebration of International Women’s Day at Miambani Primary School in Kitui Central, Kitui County, Waziri Generali Fredrick Kimanga delivered a compelling message emphasizing the importance of educating the girl child and empowering women. The event, held on March 8, 2025, was graced by Kitui County Governor Dr. Julius Malombe, underscoring the county’s commitment to gender equality.
Kimanga passionately advocated for increased educational opportunities for girls, highlighting education as a fundamental tool for empowerment and societal progress. He called upon parents, educators, and community leaders to support and encourage girls in their academic pursuits, aiming to break the cycle of gender-based disparities.
- The event also recognized seven outstanding gender champions who have made significant contributions to advancing gender inclusivity in Kitui County. Each honoree received a token of Ksh 10,000 and a certificate of recognition, serving as an inspiration for others to actively engage in gender advocacy.

This year’s International Women’s Day celebration in Kitui County, themed “Accelerate Action,” served as a powerful reminder of the collective efforts required to achieve gender equality and the crucial role of education in empowering women and girls.
