HON. FRIDAH MAKASI EMPOWERS WIDOWS AT AIC KYANDULA, LAUNCHES TABLE BANKING INITIATIVE

Kitui County Women Representative aspirant Hon. Fridah Makasi continued her grassroots empowerment agenda after joining congregants at AIC Kyandula for a Sunday worship service, where she reaffirmed her commitment to uplifting vulnerable members of society, particularly widows.

During the visit, Hon. Makasi donated essential household items to widows drawn from the local community in a gesture aimed at easing their daily challenges and demonstrating compassion for those facing economic hardships.

In a major boost to women’s economic empowerment, Hon. Makasi also officially launched a table banking initiative for the widows. The programme is expected to promote a culture of saving, provide members with access to affordable loans, and strengthen their financial independence through collective support and entrepreneurship.
Speaking during the event, Hon. Makasi

emphasized the importance of empowering women at the grassroots, noting that economically stable families form the foundation of a prosperous community. She encouraged the beneficiaries to embrace the table banking initiative as a tool for improving their livelihoods and creating sustainable sources of income.

The widows expressed their heartfelt gratitude to Hon. Makasi for her generosity and commitment to their welfare, saying the support and the newly launched table banking group would go a long way in improving their lives and giving them renewed hope for the future.

The event reflected Hon. Fridah Makasi’s continued dedication to community service, women’s empowerment, and ensuring that vulnerable groups across Kitui County are supported with practical and sustainable development initiatives.
